Contract:
An order, assignment or job. When a contract is placed on a person’s head, it means that person is to be killed.
Cosa Nostra:
The Italian term for “this thing is ours.” Used as another way to refer to the Mafia or mob.
Cugine:
The term used to describe a young and ambitious gangster who is looking to climb the ranks of power.

Double-decker coffin:
A bi-level coffin. The top half is used for regular burial purposes. The bottom half is used to dispose of victims.
Enforcer:
A member of the Mafia family whose responsibilities include threatening, physically harming or killing people indebted to the family.
Friend of mine:
An introduction used to denote that a person is not a member of a Mafia family, but is someone who can be vouched for.
Friend of ours:
An introduction used to introduce one member of a Mafia family to another.
Ice:
Another phrase used to request a person’s elimination.
Juice:
The interest paid on a loan given by a Mafia family.
Large:
One thousand dollars.
Madonn’:
A common expression, used when someone is surprised; similar in usage to “Holy cow!”
Made:
To be sworn in as a member of the Mafia (a.k.a. “to be straightened out).
Make a marriage:
A phrase used when members of two parties work together in some capacity.
